LGA (HK) Ltd.: About us

Back in August 1997 LGA, a test-institute based in Germany, started its Hong Kong Representative Office. It was a first step on the way to provide comprehensive support to manufacturers and traders in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the neighbouring South East Asian countries. Consulting, testing and certification for the European Markets has been our main focus. Effective January 1st 2007 TUV Rheinland Holding purchased 100% of LGA Holding’s shares. We now have a joint force of skilled staff and a close network of branches throughout the continents

In August 2000 the Representative Office succeeded in being transformed into a Limited Company. Laboratories for toys and electrical appliances were established. October the following year LGA (HK) Limited moved to new facilities in Sha Tin (NT) in order to allow further growth and expansion.

A furniture laboratory was set up in August 2003. Our services were extended to cater for the requirements of the German Food Stuff Commodities Act in October 2006.

One year later, after the successful merger of TUV Rheinland Holding and LGA Holding, we moved again, to Kowloon Bay together with the colleagues of TUV Rheinland Hong Kong and test facilities for pots and pans were established. We enlarged the laboratory for testing household appliances and household articles (kitchenware and house wares). Later in the same year we were able to add the field of Social Audits to our inspection services.

A new facility for environmental testing (emissions of VOC, formaldehyde, odor etc.) is under construction and will be operating soon.

Beside the laboratory tests we also offer inspection services, sending our experienced staff to the production facilities and plants all over the country. This helps to ensure consistent quality and acceptance of the products in the Countries of Designation.

We tailor our services to your individual needs and in co-operation with our sister company TUV Rheinland we offer a wide scope for all kinds of consumer and industrial goods. Be it the legal requirements in the European or North American markets or an in-house standard and test criteria, we are there to support you on your way to successfully promoting your products.
